Do you ever get cut off?

Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate Report Designer doesn't always make it easy to determine what the width of a report's page is. Thoroughly combing the Knowledgebase will inform you that the maximum report width is 350 characters. That's a lot of characters to put on a single line. For your reference, this paragraph is right at 350 characters.

But we've all seen a report print off with some of the columns cut off to the right. Why does that happen, if you can put 350 characters on a line? It's because Sage 300 CRE's Report Designer is designed for the use of a specific font setting. That font is Courier New, size 12, regular style. It's not the prettiest font, but I know I prioritize function over form when it comes to my data.

In order to get this to work, you have to have your system default set to Courier New, Size 12, Regular style. The report must be set to use the System Default font, and the individual fields of the report must be set to use the default format. You can find instructions for doing that in this Knowledgebase article.
